Welcome to Poriya Elite Poodles
I have Black and White Miniature (medium) Poodles
All my poodles are show dogs.
All my dogs are tested for prcd-PRA by Optigen and are all A (normal)!!
My name is Osnat Laster
I loved animals and especially dogs from the word go.
In my parents' home, I could not give full expression to this love and had to make do with a duck and a cat.
It was only when I got married that I could do my passion justice. I raised cats and dogs and, along with my son Oran, we created a real little farm with rabbits, hamsters, ducks and even an ahedgehog .
I am a teacher by training and a graduate of the Hebrew University of Jerusalem in Sociology and the History of Jewish People. I was a teacher for 11 years until I studied Interior Design, which I also worked in for several years.
I currently broadcast a show on "Kol Rega" radio called "A Dish for the Sabbath" in which I share recipes, tips and advice relating to food, entertaining and health with the listeners. For me, working on the radio is a combination of two great sources of pleasure: food and talking to people.
Over the years, I have accumulated thousands of recipes which I got from the show's listeners and I compiled them in a book called "A Dish for the Sabbath with Osnat Laster" and my second book – "Another Dish for the Sabbath" – is currently in the final stages of publication.
In 2008, I studied dog training at the Beit Dagan Veterinary Hospital and was qualified as a professional dog trainer by the Hebrew University of Jerusalem.
I love cooking and entertaining and the kitchen is the life of our home – it is both where we eat and where we entertain, which is why we have a large, fully equipped kitchen. There's something about sitting around a big, kitchen table that never fails to create a warm, intimate atmosphere.
Both my husband Zvika and I love old and antique artifacts. There's something fascinating about the stories surrounding each artifact and object and together, we have a passion for collecting antique artifacts and the personal stories that go along with them.
As part of his love for things of yesteryear, my husband owns 2 very old cars: a 1964 Cadillac and a 1968 Jaguar E Type.
There's also a third one: a 1971 Mercedes 280 SEL Convertable, which is still in the process of being reconditioned. It is in this car that I am expected to accompany my husband Zvika to meetings held by Moadon Hahamesh, Israel's Classic Car Owners Club.
I believe that every person has a dog that suits him and that not every dog is suitable for every person.
Over the years I have had different dogs: Boxer, Rhodesian Ridgeback and Shih Tzu, which were all great dogs and I loved them all but the Boxer was too hyperactive, the Ridgeback was too aggressive, and the Shih Tzu had a scrunched up face.
So it was until my birthday when my husband gave me two black Poodles: a male and a female.
It was then that I realized these were the dogs for me! They fitted my character, were perfectly suited for me, precisely what I dreamt of about dogs – happy, loving, smart, understanding, quick-learners, elegant and beautiful.
At dog shows I always watch and notice pairs of dogs and owners and on many occasions it seems as if that breed was created for that specific person, and it’s then that I realize that each person has one breed of dog suitable for him or her, and if you want to enjoy raising a dog then you should study the different breeds before you decide which one to choose.
Over the years I have gotten to know the Poodle breed well. I have learned their special and charming character as well as how to groom them.
Poodle people have much to talk about. When I meet other poodle owners we immediately share tips and advice regarding treatment and grooming of our beloved dogs. I learn something new every time and am happy to share the experience I have accumulated with others. With raising dogs, and Poodles in particular, you try and learn something new every day, it never ends, and the enjoyment of the outcome is immense.
